The percentage of males to the total population of Portugal is just under 50%. And the percentage of females to the total population is just over 50%. These figures are based on information that is calculated from population estimates of July 2005, and that is posted at the following site: http://www.infofranchise.com/detail.cfm?IdNotizia=8131&IdSezione=18&strKey=com. At the above site, the population of Portugal is broken down into three age groups: 0-14 years old; 15-64; and 65 and over. The total population is estimated at 10,566, 212. And the findings are the following: Those in the 0-14 age group represent 16.6% of the total population, with males numbering 916,234, and females 839,935. Those in the 15-64 age group represent 66.3%, with males numbering 3,468,844, and females 3,538,779; and those in the 65 and over age group represent 17.1%, with males numbering 744,787, and females 1,057,633.
