Poor farmers can not advertise their products effectively as individuals. The best thing to do is to form a cooperative association with other farmers and use this to negotiate a better deal with middle men and to sell directly locally. There is strength in numbers provided you all stick together on what you have agreed.

Peasants, yes. Farmers, it depends. If they were peasant farmers then again, yes, but if they were Gentry and/or Yoeman farmers then they were middle class.
