During Marie Antoinette's life, the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783) was occurring. France, under King Louis XVI, joined the conflict in support of the American colonies against Great Britain in 1778. This involvement significantly impacted France's financial situation and contributed to the unrest that eventually led to the French Revolution, which began in 1789, shortly after her execution in 1793.
Because she needed something to take her mind off of the war.

Marie Antoinette was born in 1755 and was the daughter of the Empress Maria Theresa. Marie Antoinette married King Louis XVI of France. In 1793, she and her husband were beheaded after the fall of the Bastille.
After the war started with Austria and Prussia in 1792, Marie Antoinette, as the queen of France, became increasingly concerned for her family's safety and the monarchy's future. She attempted to bolster support for the royal family and sought to communicate with foreign powers for assistance. However, her perceived ties to foreign nations and her lavish lifestyle fueled public discontent, ultimately leading to her downfall. In 1793, she was arrested, tried, and executed by guillotine.
Marie Antoinette faced many challenges. She was accused of sexually abusing her only child, and they took him/her away from her. There were also rumors that she had affairs with a women whilst married. She was a social reject to France. She might of been a queen, but she wasn't loved by her people. She was never accepted. Unfortunately none of her brothers tried to save her. Her brother Joseph II was emperor of Austria, but he died in 1790. His succesor was Leopold II, another brother of Marie Antoinette, but he died in 1792. His son, Francis II now became emperor (Marie Antoinette's nephew), but at that time, Austria was at war with France, and Francis II had never met his aunt and did not care for her. And so, none of Marie Antoinette's relatives tried to save her.

The Trojan War
Marie-Antoinette, wife and Queen of Louis XVI, was executed by guillotine on the grounds that she had committed treason by corresponding with her relative who ruled Austria, a country at war with France. She was also accused of a number of other crimes, from wasting the national treasure (which was partly true) to quite ridiculous items like incest with her son.

They wanted war as they saw it as a win-win situation. If France was victorious in the war, they would be seen as great supporters of the revolution. If they lost, they would have their absolute power restored and everything would go back to normal.
Austria was the country Marie Antoinette came from, the last French Queen at the time of the revolution. It is also the country that France had been in and out of war with for several years. France and Austria weren't good friends so to say. As a matter of fact, to fix this tense relationship between the 2 countries, the empress of Austria, Maria Theresia, cooked up the idea of sending one of her daughters to France to marry the dauphin (crownprince). This daughter was Marie Antoinette. Unfortunately, the relationship between the two countries never bettered and they started a new war in 1791.
