To free Austin from prison
The Alamo started by Mexico encouraged foreign settlement in Texas, but the Mexicans far out numbered the Texans. The Texans wanted to be independent, so the Texans started a Texas Revolution, and the Alamo was the very first battle to happen in the Texas Revolution.
back then, Mexico owned Texas... but the Texans wanted to separate from Mexico.....
Because they wanted their own free army, and their own rules.
The Battle of the Alamo was fight by 190-250 Texan troops against about 1,800 of General Santa Anna's Mexican troops. Santa Anna wanted to punish the Texans for defying his government. The Texans wanted independence and liberty from Santa Anna's centralist government.
The fall of the Alamo, the slaughter of the Texans after they surrendered, the slaughter of the Texans at Goliad; all these factors inspired the Texans to fight harder for independence, defeat General Santa Ana, and free the territory from under the control of Mexico. After all, when the Mexicans showed they had a "no prisoner's taken" policy, it does inspire a person not to surrender when they know they Will be killed if they surrender.
Why I think the Goliad Massacre was fought is because... I think Santa Anna wanted Texas to give up so he kept sending people to fight the Texans. Why he kept sending people to fight the Texans is because he wanted them to lose so Texas would stay part of Mexico.
The Battle of the Alamo and the Massacre at Goliad.
He was wanted because he attacked the Texans at the Alamo.
Santa Anna attacked the Texans because he wanted the land for Mexico. He had started the Mexican revolution and wanted to expand the country.
