Uuuummmmmmmmmmm.......It suffered it think........ and I think that West Germany was good and had better economy.
It was capitalism, like it is now. Though it was even less requlated than it was now. The U.S economy has always been free market, and hopefully always will be, though some of us are currently worrying about the disminishing possibility of that.
They were horrible and cold because it was snowing during the war when the French and the English had to fight aginst Germany.
The links to West Berlin were crucial during the Cold War as they represented a lifeline for the city, which was surrounded by East Germany and the Soviet bloc. These connections facilitated the flow of goods, information, and people, reinforcing West Berlin's status as a symbol of freedom and democracy against communist oppression. Additionally, they allowed Western powers to maintain a foothold in the heart of East Germany, serving as a strategic point for intelligence and military operations. The significance of these links was underscored during events like the Berlin Airlift, which highlighted the West's commitment to supporting the city amid Soviet threats.
After World War II, the four Allied Powers took up Occupation Zones in Germany. The US, UK, and French Zones eventually merged to become West Germany, which was a capitalist democracy like those three occupying powers. The Soviet Zone became a communist dictatorship like the Soviet Union was. It was this Soviet influence that resulted in German Communism in East Germany.
There wasn't actually a wall between East Germany and West Germany. The border was a series of fences and other fortifications. It was normally referred to as the 'inner German border' or the 'Iron Curtain'. The Berlin wall was between West Berlin and East Berlin. Note 'East Germany' and West Germany' were names used by the English-language media. The proper names of the two countries was 'Deutsche Demokratische Republik' (DDR = German Democratic Republic) and 'Bundesrepublik Deutschland' (=BRD, Federal Republic of Germany). East Berlin was part of the DDR. West Berlin was not part of the BRD, it was a separate entity.

There were no death camps in German East Africa during World War I. The German colony of East Africa (present-day Tanzania) did not have a systematic extermination program like the death camps established by Nazi Germany during World War II.
