Harriet Tubman created the underground railroad. She saved hundreds of slaves from abuse. She made thirteen missions to and from the south to free slaves. The Underground railroad was a network of safe houses with some underground tunnels, where people were safe. Harriet Tubman became a spy for the Federal Forces Of South Carolina, during the American Civil War. After she retired, later on she became a nurse. Later she travled to Philadelphia, and rescued her family. She was a hero!
