What was Victorian enterment like?

The Victorian Era my favorite time span in American History. The Victorian was a time when women wore long dresses and beautiful hats. For entertainment there weredances (actually called Balls), Baseball was just starting to gain popularity and weekends could be spent taking in a game.In New York there were canoe rides in Central Park. Also in New York which I willl tell about as I was from there and talked to people who lived at that time. Parades were a major attractionas were train rides all the way up to The Bronx about 2 miles away as New York City , Manhattan anyway was mostly centered below 14th Street. Going to the theater was another form of entertainment. Socializing was often a popular way to spend a weekend evening although rathersegregated with men with men smoking cigars and drinking brany while women talked about children and fashions and trips to Europe . It definitely was a time in history I would have liked to see. Agood represantation of the Victorian era can be seen in the movies, Hello Dolly and Life With Father
