Life was very hard when Chaucer was alive but at that time they spoke the old English language.

When Chaucer was alive Charles Dickens was also alive.

Chaucer name was french and Latin and he lived a life with his dad as a wine merchant and i am not so sure about his mother but i think that his mother must of died somehow i am not sure and i am not sure

Chaucer and Dickens did not live at the same time. Chaucer was born c. 1343 and died in 1400. Charles Dickens was not born until 1812 and he died in 1870.
