It eventually led to troops firing their weapons, after being threatened by a rioting crowd. Three civilians were killed at the scene of the shooting, eleven were injured, and two died after the incident. This incident sparked rebellious feelings among the people in the colonies. The Boston Massacre is what started the American Revolutionary War.

The Boston Massacre was an event that was a terrible tragedy, between American Colonists and British Soldiers. There were tensions mounting in Boston, for there were rumors of British soldiers taking over the city by force, and governing the city under military rule.

On March 5, 1770, some boys began hurling snowballs at a small group of soldiers. Bells began ringing and a crowd gathered quickly.

Someone gave the order to fire and five citizens of Boston fell to the street, dead or mortally wounded.

Among them was Crispus Attucks, a fugitive slave who had actively participated in previous encounters with the soldiers. Attucks was the first victim of the Revolution.
