General consensus is that Virginia is indeed the first "colony" with the establishment of Jamestown in 1607. This was followed by Massachusetts (Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay Colony) in 1620 and New York (originally New Amsterdam) in 1626. I am assuming that you meant American colony, as Jamestown was certainly not the first colony in world history. Hope this helps.
