The purpose of the Korean Conflict was to prevent the spread of communism. The 5 main countries involved (not to take away from the other nations whose citizens took part in the UN's police action) each had their own reasons for fighting the Korean War. Kim Il Sung, leader of the communist North Koreans, declared war at 11:00 a.m. on 25 June, 1950, some 7 hours after his forces crossed the 38th parallel into South Korea. His goal was to unite the Korean Peninsula under the rule of the Korean Communist Party. South Korea was fighting for the survival of its fledgling democratic society. Communist China engaged UN forces to keep North Korea intact as a communist nation, probably to act as a buffer between it and the US supported Republic of Korea. The United States had as its stated objective a return to the status quo ante, in other words, to push the invaders back across the 38th parallel. In so doing, the US hoped to deter the domino effect and halt the spread of communism in Asia. The Soviet Union did not take an active part in the hostilities, but it did supply advisors and equipment to the North Koreans. Their purpose was probably to observe US doctrine and hope for a weakening of the US, militarily, politically and economically.
to rid North Korean and Chinese force from South Korea
south Korean border.
Although the goal of uniting the Korean peninsula under communist rule was unsuccessful, North Korea and its Communist allies still consider the conflict a victory because North Korea's government survived and exists to this day.
The Korean war started due to several reasons. The Japanese occupation during WWII The spread of communism during the Cold War The American Containment Policy (The Truman Doctrine/Domino Theory)
General MacArthur (American military commander in charge of the UN task force repelling the North Korean invasion of the South) was strongly against communism. He ordered (without the authorisation of the US president) that US troops would push the North Koreans past the 38th Parallel and then would invade North Korea and unite the whole Korean peninsula under a capitalist government. This turned into a war on Communism as oppose to just defending a nation against a foreign invasion. However, this made the Chinese start to fear a US invasion of their land and they entered the Korean War, causing the USA to eventually sign a ceasefire.

A question is what is your leaders goal, whats their goal, have they achieved their goal, who has a big impact on your leader, whats the most important issue your dealing with, and what can you do to help. Also what did you learn, and how can your leaders improve their goals.
to stop Communism.
Assimilation.
The goal of the North was to reunite the northern and southern states and preserve the union.
Yes, North Korea is still currently at, you could call it war. As iin 1950-1953 neither country availed from the Korean War that did nnothing but separate relations between the two countries even further this caused outrage to the Soviet union and the United States as neither was able to accomplish their goal of communism or democracy. Therefore in the 38th parallel both countries are still deploying troops and soldiers in the case of a surprise attack from either country. In this sense the two koerans are still at war from the cold war era between 1945-1991, North Korean Communists and the Republic of South Korea signed an armistice in 1953 to signal the stop of fighting as civillian casualties outnumbered those lost in war which in a sense caused the koraen War to stop. The main answer to your question is yes, North Korea and South Korea are still fighting. By Denis
