it lasted from 1918-1933. It was started when the entente countries after WW 1 abused Germany for wat it did in the war. It ruined Germany's economy and industry, made lots of citizens go hungry, and started WW 2. For during the depression a figure rised up known as Adolf Hitler. He said to the German people "why do we let them (France, Britain,...) treat us like this" so hitlers words captured the people and when President Paul Von Hindenburg was dying and gave Hitler the power of Germany, Hitler releashed Germany's anger on the world for what it treated them like.

^ whoever wrote all of that above has clearly not studied the great depression. Firstly something that resulted from the Wall Street Crash in 1929 could not have started in 1918 ("it lasted from 1918-1933.") Secondly, the Great Depression cannot (by most interpretations) be considered the sole cause of the Second World War. More so than a cause, it pathed a way for Hitler and the Nazi party to rise to power which ultimately led to WWII (which was arguably unevitable anyways...) My point is, whoever posed this question is better off reading articles/pieces of work found on Google using the same heading than trusting this degenerate and his info....
