Generally, America started it's Industrial Revolution either at the beginning of WWII ( World War 2 ) Or Before it. Probarly roughly around 1940

Britain was the first country to have an industrial revoloution, today countries like India and china are having thiers.

Britains industrial revolution began around 1750 and ended around 1900. at that time most people worked on farms or were involved in working at home. Bye 1900 two out of every three people worked in factories, some sort of trade, or transport.

We call the change from an economy based on farms, to one that relies on factories and railways the industrial revolution.

What changed between 1750 and 1900? well,

• Population grew massivly due to the increase of money people were earning, this lead to them buying things like soap ect. Also cotton started to be imported which was easier to clean than wool and carried less desease than wool.
• Work, hundreds of factories were built across Britain, giving thousands more people jobs
• Transport, transport was a growing trade things such as trains were begining to take over that of horse and carraige.
• Education, more people had money to send their children to school, however many children worked in the factories and earned money for themselves.
• Health. well, more people began to by things that were considered as a luxury item, such as soap. this ment more people being better cared for. However, the factories were not the safest of places...

Working around thirteen hours a day in a cramped, dark dusty noisy room was not exactly the jobs our mums and dads experience nowadays. The fast spinning machines often caught limbs, and some had to be amputated! The air was dusty smokey, steamy and alot of people died in the factories

Alot of children worked in the factories back then, as young as 8! and were beaten, abused and whipped if they ddid not work hard enough. Many factories employed children, because they were cheap, and had delicate hands, also they could fit under the machines to clean them, this was a job men or women couldn't do.

Finaly, many inventions took place in the industrial revolution, such as-

It began in the UK and then spread throughout of the Europe, North America and eventually the hold world. It marks a major turning point in human history because almost every aspect of human life was changed this way.
