The life of commoners in historical societies was often characterized by hard work and limited resources. They typically engaged in farming, craftsmanship, or labor-intensive jobs, facing long hours and meager pay. Access to education, healthcare, and social mobility was restricted, leading to a cycle of poverty. Despite these challenges, many commoners formed close-knit communities, relying on each other for support and sharing cultural traditions.

Commoners
Aztec commoners, who made up the majority of the population, primarily engaged in agriculture, cultivating crops such as maize, beans, and squash. They also worked as laborers, artisans, and traders, contributing to the economy and daily life of the society. Many commoners participated in local markets, and some held positions in their communities, such as serving as warriors or in government roles at the local level. Despite their lower social status, commoners played a vital role in sustaining the Aztec civilization.

Commoners
Inca nobles received education in specialized schools called "yachaywasi," where they were taught subjects like history, law, and religion by skilled tutors. Commoners, on the other hand, were educated within their communities by their families, learning practical skills like farming, weaving, and pottery making. Nobles also learned about leadership and warfare, while commoners focused on mastering trade and agricultural techniques.

now where
Commoners were working-class people. Not luxurious jobs like being an artist or writer (in those days), but it was harder work that didn't pay that much. Stereotypically, the men worked and the women stayed home and took care of the house. It depended on wealth if the family was educated or not. Rights were limited the lower you were. It was money-based status, like it is today. If you were a wealthy noblewoman, you would learn how to do dances and how to order servants, whereas a commoner woman would just take care of the children and the house. A nobleman might spend time in professions like art, or government, whereas a commoner would be doing harder work. But different inventions like the printing press, gunpowder, and toilets ( which decreased deisease) built a bridge between commoners and nobles.
