Not any more. India was part of the British Empire once but has long since gained independence.
After World War II, India successfully completed its decades-long fight for independence from British rule. In August 1947, the British formally stepped down from control of the 'sub-continent.' In January 1950 the 'Republic of India' was officially proclaimed.
It would be difficult to link industrialization to Imperialism. Imperialism existed in the world long before the term was created in the 19th century. Industrialization was the result of a number of creative inventors over a long period of time to provide a better way to produce products that previously were handcrafted.
Old imperialism, which occurred from the 15th to 19th centuries, was driven by the desire for resources, wealth, and power. It involved direct control and exploitation of colonies through military conquest. New imperialism, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, focused on economic dominance and spreading Western culture and values. It used economic and political influence to control colonies. The impacts of old imperialism were often more brutal and exploitative, leading to widespread suffering and loss of culture for colonized regions. New imperialism had a more subtle impact, with economic exploitation and cultural assimilation causing long-term effects on colonized societies.
nobody actually divided india. Today's Pakistan had predominantly indo-aryan population who were Muslim by faith. so they were a few separate regional ethnic groups from very long ago.It just happened during British era as religious clashes became all time high at that time.
European powers drew the current boarders, splitting ethnic groups among modern countries.

A long time ago
This is a very controversial question. You must remember that the British ruled over India for a long time. India got much of its technology from them, for example the railways which they started. The British used a 230 V 50 Hz system. So the answer is, this system is used in India because the British started it, it has remained the same since and it is similar to that used in the United Kingdom.
imperialism
The impact was great, affecting India in a variety of aspects in a negative way Lord Macaulay's address to the British Parliament on 2 February, 1835. "I have traveled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief, such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such caliber, that I do not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage, and, therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own, they will lose their self esteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation."
The Muslim religion in India have now made their own country, Pakistan. A very long time ago the Pakistan were a part of India, but, the 2 religions did not get a long, and one day..... There was a war between the Muslim and the Hindus! The 2 religions had a war and that is how India lead to independence
