Nikita Khrushchev was a Commasar in the War. He fought in several crucial battles in Russia including the Battle of Stalingrad. See attached link.
There was no Tsar (Czar) in Russia from 1917 onward. The Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 removed that regime, and replaced it with the Union of Soviet Socialists Republics (USSR) around 1922.

Because of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Castro wanted to start nuclear war because he believed that the US would nuke him first. So Fidel wrote a letter to Nikita Sergeyevich Krushchev that basically said that if there was going to be a nuclear war, Russia should launch their missiles first. Luckily Krushchev didnt agree with him (that was the Cuban Missile crisis), and everyone thought he was insane for wanting to start nuclear war.
Krushchev was the dictator of the USSR which was serious military power and had taken over much of Eastern Europe in the aftermath of WW II. In particular, the USSR controlled East Germany with exception of the western part of Berlin which was surrounded by East Germany. While Kennedy was president, Krushchev ordered a blockade of the roads leading into West Berlin, in an apparent attempt to capture it. This put the US and USSR on the brink of war. Krushchev also made a treaty with communist Cuba and attempted to set up missile bases there with Soviet missiles. This produced another crisis. In short, Krushchev had great military power under his command and showed clear hostility to US interests.
Mikhail Gorbachev is credited with helping to end the Cold War. His policies of glasnost (openness) and perestroika (restructuring) aimed to reform the Soviet Union and reduce tensions with the West. Gorbachev's willingness to engage in dialogue with Western leaders, as well as his decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan, played a significant role in easing Cold War hostilities.
Please read the account of Kruschev in World War 2 in the attached link. Thank you.
He didn't. Within Russia, he denounced Josef Stalin as a tyrant and stopped the excesses of his reign. But he remained a loyal Communist, only showing his aversion of even the risk of a new war by giving in at the time of the Cuba crisis - the horrors he had seen as the local Communist leader during the battle of Stalingrad had put him off war for good.

The name Nikita is of Greek origin and can be used for both males and females. The meaning of Nikita is unconquered. A famous person named Nikita is the late Nikita Khrushchev, a leader of the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
The role of what?
Soviet Leaders got progressively weaker as each Soviet Leader left office after Krushchev. Stalin & Krushchev were the hard-liners of the cold war. They were truly from the old school.
Stalin, Krushchev, Chairman Mao, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon.
Joseph Stalin during WW2 and Vladimir Ivashko during the Cold War. Actually no. Lenin began the regime and Stalin took over when he died. Stalin was murdered and Nikita Krushchev was his sucessor. Leonid Breshnev was next and Mikail Gorbachev was part of the fall of the USSR. Ivashko was one of Gorbachev's official.
