The US developed many secret weapons during World War 2.

The most widely know toward the end of the war and shortly afterward was the Norden Bomb Site, which was claimed to provide very high accuracy in placing bombs on target. The claim has been shown to have been exaggerated.

The secret weapon most widely known now, many decades after the war, is the Atomic bomb, which was developed to meet a German threat, but was used to end the war with Japan. But this was not a strictly US development. The atomic bomb was developed jointly by the US, UK, and Canada, working together on the Manhattan Project at sites mostly within the continental US.
