The Edwards brothers, Haden and Benjamin, were key figures in the Fredonian Rebellion of 1826-1827 in Texas. They led a revolt against Mexican rule in an attempt to establish an independent republic in the area around Nacogdoches. The rebellion was fueled by tensions over land disputes and the Mexican government's policies, but it ultimately failed due to a lack of support and military intervention from Mexican forces. The rebellion is significant as it highlighted the growing discontent among American settlers in Texas and foreshadowed future conflicts between Texas and Mexico.
The Fredonian Rebellion occured when Edwards had trouble with the land because he couldn't kick the inhabitants that were living there off the land, he then led a small group of 15-30 armed settlers to Nacogdoches and raised a flag bearing the words "Independence, Liberty, and Justice." The Fredonian Rebellion collapsed after one year in 1827. Ref: My 7th Grade class this year (Pre-ap) :)

The Books of Maccabees are important historical texts that provide insight into the Jewish revolt against the Seleucid Empire. They detail the events and struggles of the Maccabean revolt, led by Judah Maccabee and his brothers, against the oppressive rule of the Seleucid king Antiochus IV. These books offer valuable information about the religious and political motivations behind the revolt, as well as the cultural and religious significance of the events that took place during this period.
During the Fredonian Rebellion, Stephen F. Austin and his militia sided with the Mexican government. Although initially sympathetic to the grievances of the rebels, Austin believed that the rebellion was misguided and sought to maintain loyalty to Mexico. He worked to quell the uprising and restore order in the region, ultimately opposing the actions of the Fredonian rebels.
