On Nov. 9,1799, Napoleon and his associates put to an end the French government called The Directory. It was called the Coup d'état of 18 Brumaire. The new established government was called the Consulate. It was made up by three Consuls, of whom Napoleon was the leader and achieved the title of First Consul.
