What happed at Pearl harbor mahh dicklkkk?

The Japanese flew Japanese Zero/fighter planes (a.k.a. "meatballs" or "Zeroes") into and over Pearl Harbor, crashing into ships, buildings, and the ground in order to create explosions and kill as many people as possible (see "kamakaze pilots"). They also dropped bombs onto ships and certain areas, as well as fired ammunition (bullets) as they flew over the harbor in an attempt to destroy the harbor. The attack began around 7:35 a.m. on December 7th, 1941 at Pearl Harbor, Ford Island in Oahu, Hawaii, just west of Honolulu.

Was the USS Pennsylvania shot in the attack on Pearl Harbor?

At the time of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941, Pennsylvania was in drydock in the Pearl Harbor Navy Yard. She was one of the first ships in the harbor to open fire as enemy planes roared out of the high overcast. The Japanese did not succeed in repeated attempts to torpedo the caisson of the drydock, but Pennsylvania and the surrounding dock areas were severely strafed. The crew of one five-inch gun mount was wiped out when a bomb struck the starboard side of her boat deck and exploded inside Casemate Nine.

Why was there negative feelings towards the US in the Philippines after the war?

Simple. The Philippines was the Great Human Shield of the United States during World War II. Aside from Pearl Harbor, have you heard of any major American cities/mainland-US areas affected by the war? NONE! The war was fought in our shores and which obliterated much of our heritage. And yes, they robbed us of our independence and shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Is Pearl Harbor part of World History?

Yes. The Japanese attack on Hawaii, including Pearl Harbor & several other US military installations on December 7, 1941 (Hawaii date/time) was part of the Second World War. The other simultaneous attacks by Japan in the Pacific-Asia areas occured on December 8th, because they were west of the International Date Line.

Why didn't japan bomb Pearl Harbor?

Pearl Harbor vets and newsreels confirm that the Japaneese used bombs, torpedos and machinegun fire in their attack on Pearl Harbor The Imperial Japanese Nave DID bomb Pearl Harbor. Naval installations, ships, Army posts, and Air Corps fields and planes were targeted and destroyed on Dec. 7th 1941. Perhaps you meant, why didn't they bomb civilian areas? The largest reason was military efficiency. They wanted to make sure every bomb and torpedo did the most damage to US military assets. Japan wanted to make sure the the US could not prevent Japan's expansions in the Pacific -- bombing a house would not help that mission, but bombing a destroyer would.

How many P-36 fighters fought in World War 2?

The P36 Curtis Hawks were first used in 1935 before the allies went to war. Now, the story turns sad. They were parked in airfields in Pearl Harbor Hawaii and a couple of other Hawiian Island areas. Only 5 P36's survived and they were used to fight off the Japanese on December 7, 1941. The others were all bombed and damaged. They were not used again because they were replaced by the P40 Curtis Warhawk. I put a website on the link below for you so you can see one. If you ever get a chance to see the modern movie of Pearl Harbor watch it. It has the best scenes with these planes.
