Well there are many reasons.

Some here include: Aggressive American Expansionism, conspiracy theories of British funded Indian raids on the American frontier, and even the Democratic Republican master plan for the final riddance of the dying federalist party. Below I will try to explain each in more detail:

Aggressive Expansionism. So now, you just beat the greatest power in the World, and you're feelin' pretty confident. You got nothin' to do and that power is embroiled in a war that will drag it to hell (reference to Napoleonic wars). And you've got a useless army that had no purpose but to put down the Shay's rebellion and Whiskey rebellion. So, feeling oh so haughty, you invade Canada, which is lightly, VERY lightly (or so we thought) defended. Only problem was, when we invaded, Britain had just defeated Napoleon. So now, America's gonna face the Brits' full might. Uh oh, where did we go wrong?

You are a new country starting out, with a fledgling government, and so...you see...if you've got raiders, native raiders, you would be unhappy, because they're interrupting your development. Well that's going to get even worse if they are funded by your former colonizers. Ugh, so now we're pretty pissed, we should start a war with Britain, and especially because they're embroiled in a war. We think we could win. Instead, we barely drawed.

And maybe, I'm not really sure, but maybe the Republicans were smart enough to see that the Federalists were going to reverse their position and condemn the declaration of war as an abuse of the elastic clause, ironically. So when the Republicans (maybe) made up this plan, overtly confident in their ability to win, the populace would celebrate and the Federalists would be so humiliated in their attempts to impede the progress of the war that they would die out. Well, it kind of happened like that, only the grand old USA didn't win, they drawed. But...the Republicans made it LOOK like they won with a last minute victory at Orleans. How's that???

In 1811 there was a military conflict in the Battle of Tippecanoe. The war hawks see that the Indians possess British weapons so they figure that the British are encouraging the Indians to fight.

1. The British were fighting an ongoing war against France and did not want the U.S. to trade with France, despite the fact that the Americans were out of their control at that point. This situation caused a lot of tension.

2. The Royal Navy (of Britain) went after U.S. merchant ships to look for British sailors who had deserted the British Navy in search of better job conditions. The U.S. believed this was unnecessary and that the deserters had the right to become U.S. citizens. The British even began to infringe upon local U.S. waters to seek out deserters.

3. The U.S. wanted to expand into northwestern territory, but the Native Americans felt pressured. The British were thought to be in support of the "Indians", so the U.S. decided to expand into Canada. The American forces won one successful battle, then decided to retreat when they couldn't acquire supplies from the local people.
