It is thought that iconic social movements, driven by an individual, are an inevitable result of an existing widening of tolerance toward a particular social opinion. Therefor the likelihood of society as we know it being altered due to the absence of the individual is minimal. In this case, a different activist/politition/spokesperson would have inevitably replaced, Martin Luther King, in the history books therefor the only notable change would be the name Martin Luther King....
