Actually the Fatman bomb detonated almost 2 miles away from it intended target in Nagasaki.

It was dropped by mistake over a factory complex in a valley outside Nagasaki, this valley contained much of the blast making the damage to Nagasaki itself less than the damage produced by the lower yield Little Boy bomb at Hiroshima (where the detonation was almost directly on target).

Both bombs detonated about 1500 feet above the ground.
