Great Britain has not been under the control of Another Country in recent history, so we have no moment of independence to commemorate. Other American holidays which are not observed in Great Britain include Thanksgiving (there is a minor religious event in October known as Harvest Festival, which tends to be observed exclusively by schools and churches) and Labor Day (there is instead a public holiday associated with, but rarely actually on May 1st).

The traditional feast of roast turkey and its associated accompaniments is reserved for Christmas. Oh, and pumpkin pie is unheard of here. Shame...
