When did Canadian troops first leave for World War 2?

Despite what the previous answer says, YES, the Canadians did fight in World War One, and died bravely. Some of their most famous battles include; * The Second Battle Of Ypres; from April 24-May 4, 1915. This was the first time poison gas was used by the Germans. Even as their French allies ran, the Canadians held fast, and urinated on their hankerchiefs to survive the gas. * The Battle Of The Somme; September 15-October 18, 1916. Most of these battles were suicide missions. * Battle of Vimy Ridge; the Canadians were the only fighting force that could take the ridge, with around 10,000 casualties (British and French totaled over 100,000). * Second Battle of Passchendaele; 26 October - 10 November 1917, also another suicide mission. -----------------------------------------------------<>---------------------------------------------------- They did not fight at all... they just made supplies...

Canadians fought alongside the Americans and British during Operation Neptune (D-Day) in June 1944, and alongside the British once again in the Battle of Caen in July 1944. They were involved in the Ardennes Counter-Offensive (Battle of the Bulge) in December 1944/January 1945, and pushed deep into Germany with the Americans and British from March-May 1945.

I think Juno Beach on D Day was mostly Canadian. They later relieved Northern France, with the British & moved into the Netherlands & Germany.
