Russian Jews have been moving to Israel since the late 1800s early 1900s since before the Soviet Union was around and before Israel was even a country. But in mass, Russian Jews moved to Israel in the 1970s and late 1980s when the Soviet Union opened up its boarders to Jews wishing to reunite with family in Israel. After the fall of the Soviet Union many Jews moved to Israel as well, but on a slightly smaller scale at that point.

No, but the majority are. There are, however, a substantial minority of Russian Christians in Israel who came in during the mass immigration from Russia. They feigned being Jewish to get out of Russia, but once they became citizens of Israel, they saw no reason to continue the farce. There is also a growing minority of Messianic Jews in Israel who come from ethnically European stock. Additionally, there are foreign citizens working in Israel who happen to be Christians not of Arab descent, such as Americans or Filipinos.
Many Jews consider Israel to be their homeland.

Russian Jews speak Russian as their first language. Yiddish is a rare second language in Russia. Hardly any Russian Jews can speak it (Most Yiddish speakers in the world live in Belarus, Israel, and Argentina). There are no longer any native speakers of Yiddish in Russia.
