During World War II, the three most important European battles that took place were the Battle of Britain in 1940, the Battle of Stalingrad in 1942/1943, and the Battle of the Bulge in 1944/1945. The first ensured that Germany would not win a quick victory in the war. The second proved that Germany had, indeed, overstretched itself by engaging in a two-front war. The third used up the last of Germany's military reserves, ensuring its final defeat while also enabling the Soviet Union to gain control of most of Eastern Europe, which set the stage for the Cold War to come.
The battle of Concord was the first that the Americans won against the British. This was also where the "shot heard 'round the world" was immortalized by Ralph Waldo Emerson. The British had come to Concord after the initial battle at Lexington, and were defeated by thousands of militiamen who descended upon them.
Carthage did send reinforcements, however the eventual Roman coubter-strategy was to invade North Africa, and Hannibal was ordered to come home to defend the city, ending his threat in Italy.
Since the Americans won that battle that means that they are proud that they are winning and want to keep trying hard and try to surprise the British when they come again and it worked and they want a free country!
The outcome of the battle was that is was an German failure and a Allied victory. After this, the Germans quickly decline from the western front towards Berlin to protect it and Germany from Allied occupation.
The British had gone to to the coast, and were waiting for reinforcements from England. At the same time, the Americans were strengthening in number and they had not long before got the aid of the French. They had a fleet organized to come over and blockade the coming reinforcements. The French happened to get there with their fleet first and set up their blockade. The British had nowhere to go and they were surrounded by Americans and the French were at sea blocking the British from receiving their reinforcements. The French fought off the British fleet, and finally, General Cornwallis, had his men surrender.

Yes, my uncle, Bert Allen , was in the Battle of the Bulge. Uncle Bert is 93 years old, his health is pretty good but his memory is not the best. There is a website called Friends_of_US_2nd_Infantry_Division_WWII. There are quite a few gentlemen still living that fought during the Battle of the Bulge. You can ask them anything and they are still as sharp as a tack. Some still take annual visits back to the Normandy beaches. My father fought with the Second Indianhead Division, that's how I stumbled on the site. It's great. I typed in that address but they said it was wrong and i didn't come up with anything

The allies had the advantage. The allies controlled the sea. Who ever controls the sea, can come and go as they wish; and can receive supplies (food, water, fuel, ammo, medical supplies, spare parts, tools, reinforcements, etc.).
On June 26, 1862, Lee was ready to envelope the Union's V Corps commanded by Gen. Porter deployed north of the Chickahominy. 18,000 reinforcements under Stonewall Jackson, coming from the Shenandoah Valley had to strike the Federal right wing from the north, while three other Confederate divisions assaulted from the west. As Jackson failed to come in time on the battlefield, the Confederate assault was bloodily repulsed.
