America actually came to the Inuit (Eskimo) to put things correctly. Archeological data shows that the Inuit people have lived in, what is today Alaska, for over 3,000 years (around 1,000 C.E.) - There are strong critics of this date because of the archelogical problems in arctic conditions. Alaska became a state of the United States in 1958, so America came to them at that point.
