However, Palestine was never organized as a single governate nor was it a regional hub under any Islamic Empire. It was considered a regional backwater.

The Nazi forces were stopped from invading Mandatory Palestine from the west due to the British victory at the Second Battle of El-Alamein in Egypt. The Nazis had no access to Mandatory Palestine from the north or east since Turkey was a neutral state in World War II that the Nazis chose not to trifle with.
