I believe that the upper class Victorians lived in goodly sized houses in town, or large estates in the countryside. They were well to do, and nearly always had at least a few servants to take care of the daily tasks. With chores out of the way, rich Victorians went hunting, shopping, to balls and concerts, and threw money around like there was no tomorrow. Especially in the Victorian era, there was a huge gap between the quality of life or the rich and poor.
ragged clothes
poor people in Victorian times were made to work very hard and in very poor conditions, soem even dangerous. orphans were made to go to workhouses, they did not get much food at all only gruel (porridge but very very lumpy) cheese if they got lucky ( very rare ) and bread a lot of the time
In Victorian times, terraced houses were usually occupied by artisans (skilled workers) who weren't necessarily poor.

the percentage of poor people that died in the victorian time, compared to the wealthy members of the population was: poor people 78% wealthy people 22% the reason for this is the poor people in the victorian times had to work, extreamly hard to earn money for possetions therefore leading to a early death becsaue of over working the muscles and bones ect. wealthy people had a great life they laid back and enjoyed the use of the servents whic did everything for them. the servents were the poor people.
