i would imagine, seeing that most GEO's made before 1996 were manufactured in Japan, that your's is probably a Japanese vehicle. my 1995 2-door hatchback was made there; i found this out by popping open the hood and seeing the "Made in Japan" sticker next to the engine diagram in there.....

After 1996 a lot of Metro's became 4 Cylinder which made them different from the previous generation metros.
