But almost all pharaohs had their brains and intestines removed and placed in canisters, which were then sealed in the burial chamber along with their mummified (embalmed) corpses. Objects and tools the pharaohs had found useful in life were often sealed in these burial chambers, and sometimes, favored wives, servants, and pets were buried with the pharaoh, too.
