The SS Oklahoma was sunk by a German sub in feb. 1942 off the coast of Georgia near St. Simons Island, the shipwreck was towwed up on a beach and 5 dead merchant marines who were burned beyond recognition were removed from the ship and buried in a cemetery in Brunswick Georgia .
