Apollo was the name of all the lunar missions. The various craft that went were numbered. 6 missions went to the moon and landed on it, which were Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17. Each lunar mission spacecraft consisted of two parts, a command module and a lunar module. The command module got people to the moon and orbited around it and got them back to Earth. The lunar module was the part that actually landed on the moon. The 6 lunar modules that landed on the moon were:
Eagle
Intrepid
Antares
Falcon
Orion
Challenger

Some of the other astronauts used to tease him and call him "Edwin", but he didn't really mind.
The frequencies used for these excursions in the sixties were in the UHF band and never made public. It is anyone's guess if this will ever be made public as NASA is under no mandate to make it public, ever. Today, frequencies used would probably also be in the UHF range, but is a very closely guarded secret, especially if you take into consideration the communication between Mars landed vehicles and earth.
While there are many theories, the most commonly accepted is that they walked over across the land bridge that used to exist between present-day Russia and Alaska.

The spacecraft used to land on the moon by man was the lunar module. The Eagle!
To explore further away from where the astronauts were able to land the Lunar Module.
There is a new project that would allow us to go to the Moon or possibly beyond(project is named Orion). Space shuttle aren't capable of travel to the Moon. No spaceship currently used is able to fly a man to the Moon.
There has never been a space shuttle to land on the moon. The only manned vehicle to visit the moon is the Lunar Lander. The first one to land on the moon was called the 'Eagle.' Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin where on board when that happened.
The moon has no atmosphere, they used small rocket engines to land on the moon. They were on the bottom of the lander.
The Saturn V (Saturn five) rocket was used to launch the astronauts into space. The project was named the Apollo missions.Neil Armstrong was on Apollo 11 which was the first mission to actually land on the Moon.
The Gemini spacecraft carried two astronauts to the moon.
That would be the Moon. Yes, our Moon. Space 1999 used it to travel the stars.
Four astronauts used two buggies on the moon.
