People learned of the terrible conditions that the African slaves had to endure and began to campaign against slavery. Then the groups seem to have grown and grown until they became a majority. Finally the Slave Trade act of 1807 was passed and it was officially abolished even though the slaves played a key role in the industrial revolution.
