King Se Jong was originally the third son, only to become the heir for the throne if something was to have happened to his two older brothers. However so, his oldest brother, Yangnyeong, who was originally the heir for the throne, wanted Se Jong to be king. So together, Yangnyeong and his second brother behaved extremely rudely in front of court, made inappropriate jokes at the royal parties, and said things not to be said at the royal receptions. So in the end, they were banished from Seoul. Then, Yangnyeong became a traveler and wandered the mountains. His brother went to a Buddhist temple and became a monk. Then in august 1418, he descended to the throne.

King se Jong is a well known leader to the republic of Korea. Most know him as the great king who created the Hangul alphabet, but that wasn't his only talents and accomplishments. He was also a great military leaders. He chose his generals carefully and lead his soldiers to battle bravely. His soldiers were well trained. And just to prove it, there was a fight during his time as the heir. 243 Japanese were killed, and another 110 were captured in combat, while 180 Korean soldiers were killed in the war. And 146 Chinese and 8 Korean kidnapped during this expedition. They, as in king Se Jong and his fierce army, won the war in the end, if it wasn't so obvious already.
