A man belonging to the Black Hand Gang who planned to assassinate him. I will tell you something interesting aswell - there was 6 members of the black hand gang and they had all positioned themselves along the road where the archduke and his wife were going to travel knowing that if one failed the person along next would try to kill him. It turned out that none of the members succeeded and the Arch duke and his wife Sophie got to the hall they were visiting. Meanwhile the members admitted defeat and one member, 19 year old Serbian Gavrilo Princip went to buy a sandwich. When the Archduke had finished the ceremony in the hall he came out and climbed into the carriage with his wife and they carried on travelling. Their driver made a wrong turn along the way however, leading the (open top!) carriage down a side road that unfortunately had Gavrilo walking down after buying his sandwich. When he saw them coming Gavrilo snatched the opportunity and reached for his gun........leading to him shooting two bullets (both aimed at the Archduke) but with a bonus one hit him yes but one also hit his wife. They both died that day on the 28 June 1914 - this is a milestone in history because it eventually lead to World War 1!!!! AsAlways Bee :) Xo
