Anne Frank's diary was originally written in her mother tongue which was Dutch, her parents were of German extraction, when her diary was found it was years later that it was translated into different languages.
I personally like the definitive edition of the diary of a young girl anne frank, because there are a few German phrases they translate and theres also previously unpublished material Otto Frank kept to himself.
I think anne franks major accomplishments besides her diary were probabaly, hiding in the secret annexe so a long time!
