Nobody, since the Muslims never reached France.

The Muslim expansion into Europe took place in the early 8th century when north African Moors invaded Spain, taking control of most of the country. This was intended to be the launching-point for an invasion of France and across the whole of Europe, but the Muslim armies were held back and even forced southwards by the remaining Spanish forces in Asturias, so that by the late 11th century they held only the lower third of Spain.

By 1250 the Muslims had been forced back into a small area around Granada where they remained for a long time, leaving their architecture as a significant element in Spanish culture.

One of the heroes of Spanish resistance was Don Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, better known to history as El Cid. He captured Valencia from the Muslims in 1094 and was killed four years later defending the city against a counter-attack.

Crusaders from across Europe also helped the Spanish army, including Knights Templar and Knights Hospitaller.
