Believe it or not, it was an admirer of William Shakespeare, young girl named Violet. She sneaked into the audition for Romeo and Juliet, and got Romeo. William was in love with the girl, but she didn't tell him about her double life. (He got the message when Violet kissed him in disguise.) When the Juliet got sick, she filled in with William as Romeo. People in the audience were shocked, but the Queen allowed it. Violet had to leave William at one point, so, in remembrance, he wrote Twelfth Night under her name.
