England didn't exist in 670 AD. The land was ruled by a series of tribal kings:

Oswiu (654 - 670) was restored to his kingdom in Northumbria and then succeeded by Ælfwine (670 - 679)

Wulfhere (658 -- 675) Restored Mercian dominance in England and was the first Christian king of Mercia.

Ealdwulf (663 - 713) in East Anglia

Cenwalh (648 - 674) and Queen Seaxburh in the restored kingdom of Wessex

Ædelwealh (660 - 685) in Sussex

The joint kingdom of Sighere (664 to 683) and Sebbi (664 - 694) in Essex

Ecgberht I (664 - 673) in Kent

and the tribal lords of the that ruled the western parts of England and what is now Wales and Scotland

Some of these kingdoms included smaller kingdoms (like Lindsey) that at times were independent.

The kingdoms continued to war and make alliances between themselves until King Athelstan (from Wessex) unified the majority of these lands under a single English crown in AD 927.
