The person who famously advocated for unity between Native Americans and colonists was Benjamin Franklin. He believed that cooperation was essential for mutual defense against common threats, particularly from European powers. Franklin highlighted this idea in his 1754 "Join, or Die" political cartoon and during the Albany Congress, where he urged the colonies to unite and also sought to foster better relations with Native American tribes.
