There will be many factors that can play roles on who will be the number 1 nation in the world. Right now the best bet is to say China, considering U.S. struggles and debt. It could be India if corruption is fixed then India has potential to grow at a much higher pace than China ever has. Throughout history India has led the world in GDP for almost 15 centuries, with the British taking control China went to first and then it went on and on until the U.S. has emerged. The best bet is to say China by 2050.

Answer:No one will rule the world by 2050 but the most powerful country will the be the United States. This is because china in its history when it accumulates great wealth like it is now can not balance it intern makes them go back into isolation the most recent example being when Mao took over. As for Russia it has a huge economy by not nearly developed enough to challenge the united states. Japan is and island nation and can only grow so much before invading someone else which the united states would not tolerate.

When was that answer written Russia doesn't have a huge economy. If any one state rules the world it will be China, although 40 years is a long time it could be India. The US, while still having power, is losing it, and will continue to do so. We can't afford to live at the level we have for the past 8 years and the world has changed to much to go back to the 90's.

China is poised to take top billing, although luckily for the world they don't seem interested in being the top dog, except for Africa. China has such a large population they have to be focused on growth and less on external issues. As long a China remains responsive to its citizens then their is nothing to worry about. Great Britain France, and Germany have done a good job of playing a role in the world without being a super power. We should look to them as a model.

Answer:Who knows whether our world will still exist by the year 2050 ? This is a temporary life. We dont know how long we have left. Use it wisely. Answer:Nobody can tell. Besides, nobody 'rules the world'. Answer:It will probably be China or the US who heads the charge economically, but by that point if the targets for the Kyoto Protocol and other climate change meetings have not been met, undoubtedly the earth will be in no condition to sustain habitable life for much longer. Answer:Maybe the corporations will still own the world if the people haven't risen up by then.
