No. Napoleon wanted to have a male heir in order to start a dynasty, because his wife, the empress Giuseppina was no more able to give birth to children. That was his main goal.

Of course the marriage with the Austrian princess, would meant also political advantages for Napoleon but also for Austria, thanks to the alliance that would have been stipulated between the two Powers.

So, Napoleon had no interest to marry Marie-Louise in order to obtain a "major" control over Vienna, also because he had sincerely fallen in love with her.
