The Europeans who came forced Native Americans onto reservations and raped/tortured them. They also forced Native American young to go to boarding schools to get rid of Native American cultures and languages.

because the white folks, (English, Columbus all they wanted was gold and eventually the native Americans ran out of gold, and said that they didn't have anymore. but the English demanded more and the native Americans couldn't give them anymore. so the English started to kill more native Americans

Colonists we taught by the Native Americans on how to plant corn, beans, and pumpkins and where to hunt and fish. Colonists traded iron pots, blankets, and guns for the Native Americans' furs. Colonists and The Native Americans competed for the land and then finally war broke out in 1636.
It hurt the Native American cause because the colonists weren't likely to give the Native Americans permission to have their land back, so them siding against the colonists ensured they weren't going to get it back. Many Native Americans were killed in the battle, so that further decreased their population after suffering a wave of disease from the settlers.
