The USA never tried to assassinate Feidel Castro. Tensions were high during the "Cuban Missle Crisis" and Cuba's support for Russia when tensions were high between USA and Russia. However, the USA has never attempted to assassinate Feidel Castro.

I don't agree with this answer,

but the USA government and JFK did tray and assassinate Castro before the missile crisis, in the bay of pigs fiasco in 1961, however the Cuban troops met the sneaky Americans on the beach and it was all very embarrassing for the US, Kennedy even denied it! (the big cover up may be why you [above] have come to your conclusion, perhaps you'd been looking at original sources, from JFK at the time?) anyway, i even asked this question! i just want to know WHY,
