If you mean England, the colonists hated the new laws because of the taxes the British were dumping on the colonists and how British was trying to control them. the 13 colonies eventually didn't like the british acts so much that they rebeled.
The British didn't treat them nicely, there were too many taxes for no reason, and they didn't have Independence.
The British believed that taxes were fair because the British gave them safety, so they taxed the colonies for a way to repay them. I think....

The colonists felt that the British government had no right to tax them because there were not any representatives of the colonies in the British Parliament. The colonies had no say in how much the taxes should be or what they should pay for. They didn't think this was fair.

The British falsely believed that the colonists had objected to the Stamp Act of 1766 because it was a direct on internal tax. Therefore, they believed colonists would accept external or indirect taxes on imports. The Townshend Acts imposed new duties on products such as tea, lead and paint.
The British felt that the American Colonists should pay to bear the costs relating to their country's defense. The British also felt that they were evading the laws that regulated imperial trade. The war that ended in 1763, brought a great debt of about 122 million pounds to the British treasury. Hence the need for tighter regulations on the American Colonists.
The British taxed everything they could think of that we bought or sold. They even taxed paper and legal document stamps. They controlled everything and were tightening up on the Colonies but were still not willing to allow the Colonists who considered themselves British subjects, a right to be represented in Parliament. We would probably still be talking funny if they allowed a token representative in Government.
