Grand Nephew/Adopted Son Octavius (later Augustus) became the 1st Emperor of the New Roman Empire and invaded Egypt due to its plentiful water resources, Egypt was a fertile land and happened to be situated in a good place to be used as a trade center. Egypt at the time did not have a stong military compared to the Roman Empire.
