Americans hate French people because they are different. They don't share the same political views either, but they are not bad people. They are more "green" than the USA as well; they use almost 80% nuclear power, which is a clean energy source.
French point of view by Crisdean.
Some do, most don't.
First, we are not that different from the Americans.
In the US, I have never been assaulted by "locals", neither was I offended for being french. Most of the time, they were curious, kind and helpful.
The stereotypes.
French are rude, stink, are coward, incompetent in warfare, lazy, french woman don't shave and are easy, they eat snails and frogs ....
All of this are stereotypes, also those in France which depicte the American as fat, arrogant, racist, greedy, pretendious, badly educated, aggressive etc..
the stereotype of the American being the texan with its Stetson driving a huge Cadillac (with the bull-horn on the front), or the fat kid with his T shirt and his short.
Of course, if you see France as it is shown in American movies or on Fox News, I can easily understand why American see the French in an old-deux-chevaux, with the beret and a baguette under his arm. In fact, there are not deux chevaux anymore (except collectibles), people don't wear berets, woman do shave, people do not eat garlic everyday nor snails (sometimes during Christmas), and 95 % of french never had frog legs. We use soap, deodorants, and we take showers.
Positive stereotypes.
What I have said above is also true about the positive stereotypes on French.
Women are elegant and slim. Obesity is obviously a bigger (without humour) health problem than in France. But some French are fat. Obesity is growing in my country.
French food is the best in the word. Food is a tradition, and it is part of conviviality and it is good. But it is wrong to say that it is the "best". I think that America is more diversified concerning food.
The french and romantic lover : I would like too, but the French man is not more romantic than any other man. Neither is he a better lover.
They enjoy the Jews and invite them to there tea parties.
Some hate them out of ignorance, just like any prejudiced people hate another people. Some see Americans as arrogant, lazy and bullish, which no doubt some people can be, but not all.
The Native Americans were so important in the clash between the French and British because the Native Americans helped the French in the war between the French and British.
Americans, or in French, américains
false
Not all french hate americans. It depends on the person.
They were on the brink of orgasm before the French pulled out so they were pissed. Hate it when that happens.
haïr, détester
I Hate the French was created on 1980-09-20.
the Americans
Racist means you specificly hate a certain race, such as African Americans, or maybe French people, or Chinese. Stereotypical means saying things like all Americans are obese, or all French people are hopeless romantics.
No, because they WERE the Americans - the original ones.
to hate is 'détester' or 'haïr' in French.
They enjoy the Jews and invite them to there tea parties.
Hate crimes against Asian-Americans is not especially common. Of course, hate crimes are pretty rare anyway.
i hate that cat mean je déteste ce chat in french
