The bombs don't whistle, the air passing over them at high velocity does.

The whistles are the product of high velocity air current eddies making sound vibrations. Airplanes and whips also make the same types of noises.

What bombs where used in the blitz?

The Nazi Germans used "self flying bombs" known as V2 rockets. There were two types actually. The second type they developed could fly into London and it was so quiet you could not tell where and when the rocket would land. These bombs were the precursors to the missiles we have now. There were also the bombs dropped by the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) on the Royal Army Air Force locations, the seaports and cities.

Why should I vote?

The reason is what if no one voted? Then eventually we would fall into Anarchy which, is not as cool as the Talledega Knights make it sound. Or we could fall into Communism where we have NO freedoms and your life isn't valued as much. So you should vote and encourage others to, everyone's vote matters ALWAYS.

What makes the whistling noise on bombs as they fall?

If you've ever seen a bomb you will notice that there are tail-fins. There are two purposes to these fins.To make the bomb fall where it is intended to go. Hitting a target with a bomb is a hard thing to do and a lot of technology goes into making a bomb the right shape to 'fall straight.'These tail-fins are also modified to make the screaming sound as they fall; to add a dimension of terror to a bombing raid.

Does a falling bomb actually make a noise as in the whistle that you hear in movies when bombs fall and if so are there measures so it does make a noise on purpose?

speaking from experience from ww2 Southampton bombing raids; bombs traveling at or above the velocity of sound; make a screaming, or whistling sound. The better you hear them; the more certainty it is not falling on you. The one that hits you you will not hear; for it gets there before its sound. ----
